We have 224 condemned men (PC/HC/ARSI) quarters. Out of 224 present MSTL Company is dismantling 107 quarters, Remaining we have 117 Condemned Quarters, 13 condemned Quarters are using for various offices like Gas Office (01) police control room (02), Dog Squad (06), A.P. Police Housing Board Office (02),carpenter work shop (02) and 74 Condemned Quarters were permitted to residing for Two police families (04), 49 HG’s Families (55), Two Ex police persons (02) and Eight Outsourcing employees of Police department (09), as well as 10 officer’s (RI & RSI) quarters are available (01-RI Quarter and 02 RSI Quarters is not fit for dwelling) beside Police Welfare English Medium School, DAR, Vizianagaram.
There are 4 RIs, 6 RSIs and 74 residing quarters of DAR, Vizianagaram is utilizing water supply services. One over head Tank is situated in PTC, Vizianagaram. Instead of this tank one 5HP Submersible motor, one 3HP Mono block motor and 1HP Submersible motor are utilizing to supply water to above said quarters.
The Police Dispensary was opened on 16.02.2013 in an old Quarter near Police Guest House, Vizianagaram. On 05.02.2016 the said Dispensary was shifted to a new room which was constructed in the STF Office premises. One Medical Officers post is sanctioned but not filled up till today in this Unit. The total Medicines are being received from 5th Bn. APSP, Vizianagaram which were allotted by the chief office, Mangalagiri. As per the prescriptions advised by the Unit Doctor, PTC., Vizianagaram, medicines are supplied to the Police personnel and their family members.
The Subsidiary Police Canteen was opened on 20.11.2012 near Police Quarters with an initial investment of Rs: 1,27,355/- (from Sri D.D.M. KalyanaMandapam, VZM). Every month the required items are purchased from Commandant, CISF Unit, Visakhapatnam. The Items are selling after accumulating the cost @ of 1.13 % on the Purchasing Cost.
As a welfare measure, one Community hall was constructed and started functioning from 01.09.2004 near Sri Devi Dandumaramma Temple. The Community hall is being provided to the Police personnel and also to the Civilians.
The Mineral Water Plant was opened on 13.07.2009 near M.T. Park. The 20-liter-Mineral Water is supplied to each Police personnel every day. Approximately 400 members are utilizing this facility for each card.
Police Welfare Gas Agency was inaugurated on 30.04.1999 by Sri. MadireddyPratap, I.P.S., the Superintendent of Police, Vizianagaram as a welfare Measure to the District Police personnel. The gas agency is being maintained under the supervision of RI (Welfare). Initially Rs. 400/- from each Police officer and Rs. 200/- from the men was collected as contribution for establishment of Gas agency. The HPCL, Visakhapatnam has been supplying gas to this gas agency. At present, we are operating 02 bank SBI accounts to maintain transparency in functioning of the gas agency i.e., one for regular transactions account and one for profit account. All police personal of Vizianagaram are the consumers of Police Gas agency. The capacity of the gas godown is 8000 KGs. At present we are purchasing 342 gas cylinders per a load. At present, there are two delivery systems existing in the market i.e., Door delivery and Godown delivery. Every month 800 cylinders sale (approx).
With all required infrastructure at District AR Police Quarters, Vizianagaram with an initial investment fund of Rs. 2,48,293/-. In order to maintain transparency in functioning of Consumer Stores, a Committee comprising 2 ARSIs & 01 ARPC of DAR, Vizianagaram was formed. All purchases of required groceries take place in this consumer stores under the close supervision of the Committee. The Committee obtains quotations from the traders in the PW Market, Vizianagaram Town before going to purchase required groceries. The Committee puts up a note before the Superintendent of Police, Vizianagaram seeking approval for lowest quotation and place an order for supply of required items. In turn, on getting approval from the Superintendent of Police, Vizianagaram, the Committee purchases all the required items from the trader who quoted lowest quotation and make payment by way of bank Cheques only. The selling rate of groceries is fixed with a profit of only 2 % on the actual market price. The total amount on selling of groceries is remitted in the respective bank account of the consumer stores at regular intervals.
It was constructed opposite south wall of Vizianagaram fort, near Balaji Jn., Vizianagaram Town. It was inaugurated on 18.04.2000 with 21 shops & 01 hall (Total 22). Recent, 08 shops (temporary) have been constructed leaning on the STF barrack boundary wall, Vizianagaram on 01.04.2017. The total monthly rents of the shops are being collected and deposited in the account of District Police Welfare Society. The account is being maintained by “B” Supdt., D.P.O., Vizianagaram. Once in a year, the accounts are audited by the local Chartered Accountant and report is submitted. Further, one dormitory named Gandhi Memorial Hall (Police welfare Dormitory) also located rear side of the shops.
The Police GYM was opened on 15.06.2021 1st floor of the M.T. Park and it is used by the police personnel.
The School was established on 30.06.2004 by Smt. SwathiLakra I.P.S for Nursery to LKG. In the year of 2005 enhanced up to 07th Class and the School also got recognition by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh Vide RC No.7338/A1/2005, Dated: 02.02.2005. Now it is enhanced up to 8 to 10 Class Vide RJDSE/28/2023-RJD-VSP-CSE, Dated: 06.03.2023. The present strength of children from Nursery to 10th Class is total 590 and Police and civilian children are also allowed for admission in this School.
As a measure of Welfare to the Police Personnel a Tailoring centre was started during the year 1997. It has 04 Juki machines, 01 over lock machine and 02 folding machines are functional.
